Had the same problem. I had to copy and paste the text from as an HTML file rather than a .txt or .doc view.

For example, I use FrontPage to create article text. If I copy and paste from Normal mode, I get the same problem you have. But if I copy and paste from the HTML preview mode, It works well.

If I use Word, I have to copy and paste the page from View As Web Page mode.

If I use a text editor, I have to save the file as a .html file and preview it in my browser to copy and paste. Then the formatting is retained.

Hope this helps.

Hi
A few things are mixed here ...

First of all I assume you meant XOOPS wysiwyg and not XOOPS editor
The XOOPS editor is not supporting html design and will not keep the html design being copy from DOC or HTML

When copying and pasting into wysiwyg editors, the design is kept .... BUT !!!
when copying from WORD ... you copy the Microsoft XML commands, and as Microshit usually do, code is full of errors, unclose tags, xml shit that even IE won't undersyand, and above all, an A4 page can weight 1.5 MB ....

SO ... there a need to clean the MS shity code, almost each wysiwyg today has it's way of doing that, some better, some less
Im htmlarea for instance there was a hack for doinhg that automatically as you paste (I improoved it at that time ... 2 years ago ... hack was made by Luis - a great guy and a great contributer for HtmlArea)

Anyway, look for the button for DoC cleaning !!!!
