Using the blocks&groups admin gets the above error.

I have just installed and configured XOOPS 2.2.2 and the album was the last bit to set up. I'd hate to have to start afresh with an earlier xoops.

Questions.
Will this cause me any problems?
Is there something I can do to fix the problem?
Is there an update available?

Worst case, can I take all the setup I've done in 2.2.2 and apply it to a 2.1 or 2.0 installation?

Are you using the latest module at http://www.peak.ne.jp/xoops/ ? I'm using a point version or 3 back from current on 2.2.2, but the one I originally got from the main XOOPS site download was older and had issues with Blocks and Groups (i.e. not working at all). The developer (GiJoe) has resolved a lot of those issues.

Blocks & Groups inside modules for 2.0.x won't work with 2.2 since the blocks administration has changed.

Thanks Massacre. That did the trick.

However, I have updated to V2.9 but the module admin page still says v2.86.

any ideas?

I'm not sure... He's going through a lot of revisions in minor point releases (alpha)... I got the original update where he moved the blocks/groups for 2.2.2 to work (and you can see some posts on the site).

Have you posted on GiJoe's site for assistance? He seemed pretty helpful and the modules are actively being developed there.

Looking at it a little deeper, I see that installing it from the download on the XOOPS site gives version 2.84 and then updating from GiJoe (the 2.9 version) reports as 2.86

Looking at the main announcement on the XOOPS home page, I should have started from version 2.0.13 I think.

Ah well..... back to the day job.
