I just want to know how I can change the appreance of the website when you turn it "off" so that when visitors see that the site is down for matinence or what not it doesn't look like the admin panel with the XOOPS banner at top. Also how could I do this for the "manager" button on CBB 2. When you press that button it also has the default XOOPS header. Thank you.

A XOOPS site called MyWebResource has a module named Site Closed Replacement available here:

http://mywebresource.com/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?cid=5&lid=10

I haven't had the opportunity to try it, but it looks pretty good.

Hm yes but that still only changes the page to another page and it still has the XOOPS header and banner at the top. I'd like to change it myself to make it match my site. Anyone know how?

You could try editing:
modules/system/templates/system_siteclosed.html

I was able to change only the middle part of the "website off" page from that file, the header and footer cannot be changed from there, I'm thinking that it's in the file "system_plain.html" and the header is being generated from the php command <{$xoops_module_header}> but I'm not sure. Can anyone help me any futher?

What version of XOOPS are you using?

With the 2.0.x branch, the site_closed template I created will change the entire page and it is fully customizable. With the 2.2.x branch, only the main body is changed. The header and footer remain the same. I may release an updated version once 2.2.x branch is fully stable.

BTW... Thank you, gestroud.

It's on a test site im making on my own webspace v.2.2.3. I'm trying to test this version to see if I should use it for a client I'm building a website for. I'm in a real bind deciding which version I should use for the clients site. 2.0.13.1 or 2.2.3, do you have a recommendation?

I too would like to know how to change this part of the site to match the rest of my site. I have only edited the logo and the colors of the default XOOPS theme in the css files, but the site closed does not reflect such changes.

Thank You

For now I would recommend you stick with the 2.0.x branch. When 2.2.x stablizes, it will be well worth the time to upgrade, but for now it's not recommended.
