u can, but it isn't recommended as it would be a security risk in older versions.
also i'd like to point out, that the x-phpbb module is based on phpbb 2.0.111 which is also a huge security risk aswell, even if you use the latest stable XOOPS and then install x-phpbb it's a risk because the actual phpbb forum software is insecure.
i think this was 1 of the many reasons that led to the x-phpbb module not being maintained as much.. there's just too many updates with phpbb to contend with and too many security issues.. as soon as the module is updated.. a week later there's a new fix released etc and the whole process then needs to be redone.
you're better off using the x-ipb 1.4 module if using XOOPS 2.0.13.1 and u don't want to use XOOPS cbb forum or newbb. it's the only other forum that is maintained and supported..
