Hi, guys

I'm having a little trouble moving hosts.

I have uploaded ,my site. created the data bases and set the permissions

but its not working right

the old site looks like this

New site like this

any ideas on what I have done wrong?

I cant tell just from looking at the sites,

but you may want to check this FAQ


also make sure you edit the path in mainfile.php


If you have already done this, then I would need more info about what exactly isnt working.

HI,

if you look at the two sites you will notice that pcstuff.com.au
does not have all the pics on the main page pluse the under main menu all the other stuff like poducts
does this have to do with the modules?

also i noticed that in the templates_c folder it could not copy some of the html pages like

db%3Aagendax_flatview.html

any ideas?

When moving host you are copying a set of files from one host to another, moving the database, and changing mainfile.php to reflect the changes.

Once this is done there are a few things that can still cause problems with the new site, cached folders and absolute URLs.

First as long as the cache, templates_c, and the uploads folder are chmod 777, clear the cache and templates_c folders as they cache files that may point to your old site still. The files will be regenerated automatically as long as those folders can be written to by the server.

Any absolute URLs such ashttp://www.yoursite.com/sample.gif that you entered in your site to images or pages will need to be edited manually to the URL of the new site.
