Hello. I am sure this is a minor issue and that I am missing something so I hope and guess it'll be a quick answer.

I cannot edit my mainfile.php file. As soon as I edit and save and then read it again it reverts back to what it was, no changes that I made are present.

I need to edit mainfile.php as part of the autologin hack by GIJOE, but since mainfile.php wont accept changes the hack is incomplete and wont work.

What's it about? I know mainfile.php is being somehow generated by XOOPS and is not entirely static in that sense, so how do I get it to apply those changes I need to apply to it? How do you edit mainfile.php?

I am using XOOPS 2.2 (soon to upgrade to 2.2.1).

XOOPS modifies mainfile.php when you run the install script. After that, it never changes it.

If you can't edit it, it's probably because its file permissions are set to read-only.

Oh man, could I be more stupid.. Permissions even crossed my mind and I still somehow didn't look. So yeah, it was set to 444 and now I changed to 644 and it's ok.

Remember to change it back to 444 when you're finished.

Yeah, XOOPS already reminded me of that.

Still, autologin hack doesn't work yet.. but that's a topic for another thread.
