can't edit user profile

I am having a big problem, after I updated my site from 2.0.1 to 2.2 to 2.2.1, nobody can edit there user profile. They all get the error "ERROR: Email address already registered."

That error is on the page that also says "Taking you back to where you were...."

Any idea's.....did I do something wrong when upgrading???

what i found that the problem was...that i had 2 accounts with the same email address...it doesn't like that.....i changed the email address on one of the accounts and it all works fine now. I had my admin account.....then just a test registered users account....and I had the same email for them both
