I can't send mail by the mailserver. (Exchange)
I use the ip of the mail server. I have selected smtp and smtp auth (including login settings) But is still says:

Errors
SMTP Error: could not connect to SMTP host server(s)
Could not send mail to Administrator.

Sending message completed

When i have php debug turned on is says the following:

Warning [PHP]: implode(): Bad arguments. in file D:\www\intranet\class\mail\xoopsmultimailer.php line 171
Warning [PHP]: fsockopen(): unable to connect to :25 in file D:\www\intranet\class\mail\phpmailer\class.smtp.php line 87

Who knows what could be wrong.

I am having similar problems, but in my case the sendmail just does not actually send me any mail. Using PHP Mail I get anothe error but that is in a different thread to this one :

https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=39800&forum=28&post_id=174354#forumpost174354

I am trying to resolve that myself - I am expecting it's a hosting problem rather than XOOPS though.

Have you used a phphinfo() and examined your send_mail values? Are they valid? It's most likely to be an issue with the way your host has their php.ini file configured.

I got the same problem!

I am running 2 XOOPS sites on the same server (which is also may mail server)

the site using 2.0.13 sends mail perfectly but the other site (2.2) though using the same settings don't

Does anybody have an idea?

Re: smtp problem

hi, I was able to use smtp (but not smtpauth).

my settings were to use smtp
internal ip address of the exchange server

no details in the username/password (these are only for auth).

because they are both on an internal lan works fine.

Cheers,
Dean
