We're setting up a domain and a new site using the latest rc, which will be a site with published articles, user participation invited, and etc. The site's not installed yet.

I'm downloading content related modules and looking for info on which one(s) can be used to enhance the content or the organization. Is 'smartsections' a good one to use?

From all the modules meeting your requirements, the simpler the better.

You need provie your preferences before people could make their advice.

Yes, of course you're correct. Perhaps it's a bit early to tell which will be going in the direction we need. Looks like the website will be up by tonite or tomorrow, so then we can look at them ourselves and get an idea.

For a similar website you could look at http://www.polilogue.com The categories and topics are quite complex, and a good organization is necessary.

Thanks!
