Do you have to install XOOPS to your homepage? Or can you install it somewhere else so it would be site.com/xoops or xoops.site.com?

To install, do you upload the zip or do you upload the folder you extract?

I uploaded the extracted folder to a /xoops directory and when I go to it it doesn't bring up the installation.

you can upload it anywhere

upload the contents of the html folder to the folder you want it to use.
