While looking for a hebrew CMS, I've stumbled upon hebrew XOOPS translation. However, it is not free - a web company sells it to its customers.

Is this legal?

Re: XOOPS legal question

As long as they don't say what you can and cannot do with it once you have it - like for instance tell you that you may not distribute it for free - it is allowed.

So yes, they can charge for it - but if you find someone who has bought it and get a copy from him/her, the company cannot claim that it is piracy. It would be perfectly legal.

It annoyed that I had to open the code to see it is XOOPS - nothing is mentioned on the site, and the footer even says that all rights reserved to the company -http://demo.dotcom.co.il/

Hmmm - well. They are in their rights to do that, as long as the original credits are in place.

Also, the link in the bottom of the page could give a clue

Well, if we are on it already, is there any planning to make XOOPS support RTL languages in the core?

Re: XOOPS legal question

If someone will work with us to help us find out exactly what is necessary to change, then yes. Certainly.

However, I am a left-to-right man and will need someone to lean on for this kind of thing.

what does it take to support right to left in the core? If it this:
<table  cellpadding="0" cellspacing="2" dir=rtl lang=he>
                  <
tr valign="top"
<
td align="right"> <div class="blockTitle" dir=rtl lang=he align="right"></div>
<
div class="blockContent" dir=rtl lang=he align="right"><div align="right" dir="rtl" lang="he">
<
img src="http://demo.dotcom.co.il//images/uploads/welcome.gif" width="132" height="18" alt="" border="0" /><br />

then I suspect no (notice the double dir and lang definitions)

With a better idea of what it takes, we can consider it

Could you contact me via ICQ (3675161) or MSN messenger (elibaskin@gmail.com), so we can talk about this?
