I am creating a new site for an organisation. Currently they have a standard site with a script file that will, when executed, return a list of all the current members along with their details.

If possible I'd like to automatically move their current membership details over to the new XOOPS site and put it all in the Membership module released recently. Or maybe just into the core membership area. What I don't want to do it re-enter it all manually one by one!

Does anyone know whether this transfer can be done, and if so how? I'm not a developer so have no real clue about MySQL commands\tables\strings or PHP.

Is there any way I can carry this data from the old system to the new? If not, how much would it cost to pay someone to do it?

Thanks

Ted

I recall that Christian from XOOPS France at some point linked to a user import script that would work with a comma-separated file. Maybe a good starting point.

I e-mailed Christian a couple of months back but have not heard since.

I wonder if there is a pre-written script for importing a deliminated text file that contains all the user details into Xoops? I've read this FAQ but it refers to importing a phpNuke site into Xoops.

In my case, I have an Access Database that has been exported into a deliminated text file so I need a scritp that will pull it in (or parts of it at least) straight into the user registration section.

Any thoughts?

I really don't fancy manually re-inputting 715 members! Please...if anyone knows of a script that will pull a comma deliminated text file into an XOOPS site please let me know!

Thanks

Ted

It's occurred to me that the input can of course be an Excel spreadsheet if that makes it any easier?
