Is there an alternate email module for xoops? It seems that when ever I try to send out an email to the members, it only sends the message to the first 5 in the list and errors on the rest.

So, I have to keep selecting 5 members at a time to send something out.

Is there an better module that can be used?

Thanks.

Hi Jamescene

I don?t think the problem you got is due to the modules or even xoops? own send mail to users feature.

Did you check if your users accept to receive emails?

There are some reports regarding the same issue as yours but to something much bigger than 5 users, about a thousand or even more.

Cheers

Yes, I have checked and all the users have selected "Yes" to Receive occasional email notices from administrators and moderators.

Any ideas?

Are you using your own server or a hosting? It could be some spam protection setting preventing to send more mails in short period ...

It is being hosted by ipower.

Is this usually a setting they can change?

Well, I just got a response from my hosting company:

Quote:
The limit is 50 emails per hours or 5 emails per 10 seconds only.

Can someone recommend a different hosting company?

I really like startlogic. Check them out to make sure they meet your requirements. They don't use cpanel though. If you do go with them make your buy on the weekend and you'll save a few bucks.
