Any way to change the displayed name in theme selection?

I have the theme selection block setup on my site.. Is there any way to change the displayed name of each theme? I'd like to change the names to something a little less technical.

Simplest way is to change the name of the directory the theme is uploaded into... ie - on my own site I renamed a theme "small" and "wide" to make it easier to chose
