Is there a way to prevent images from being renamed when uploaded ?

As the topic inquires - is there a way to prevent images from being renamed with random numbers when I upload them to Xoops' image manager or other modules, such as AMS ?

I find it frustrating that my images are rendered unrecognizable after uploading them.

it's made for a security reason and not to overwrite existing images
