How search engine friendly is xoops? I am considering using XOOPS for a several sites where search engine indexing (and ranking) is key.

Any words of wisdom?

It's not top freindly by default, but considering that XOOPS.org has pagerank 8 in Google, using the default installs, I'd say that searcheninges don't have much trouble spidering XOOPS.

However, there is HEAPS and HEAPS of information on this subject available on this website, just use the search feature (duh).
