Am I just being stupid? How to post things... like in AMS, or a blog

Hey there,
It's probably a really simple problem to solve but I've installed lots of different blog modules, and AMS, to allow me to keep a blog on my front page. However, I just can't find anywhere where I can post an entry!

I can change categories, permissions etc, but there isn't anywhere where I can click to make a new post in the blog/AMS. At least, I can't see it!

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

In case of AMS (which isn't blog, and Weblog or special blog=oriented CMS can be better), you have in admin give submit permissions to needed groups (not persons)...
This way you'll not be able to get personal blog (except preparing separate categories for each person's "blog")

Where do I specify the permissions? I can't see them anywhere. I looked in 'groups'.

Have a look in the AMS admin area itself, and you should see a tab called "Submit/Approve Permissions".
