Email notification not working!

I just set up a new site and I can not get the email notification to work niether admin or user when I use auto activate. it works with user activate.
The contact form is working fine. I tried both PHP and SENDMAIL.

BUMP, same problem, guys alot of time past since this thread, any found a solution for these problem? or still with the same problem?

Same problem. On one site it worked sometimes and
other times not. Some users were able to register and
some not. Some got emails and some not. A real pisser.

Sounds odd, would it be possible that some e-mails get blocked by anti-SPAM software? Normally something works or does not work...instead of sometimes it works and sometimes not

I have the same problem. New installation 2.0.10 on remote server. E-mail messages from administrator to users works fine. So I guess that php-mail works. But notifications do not work!!!!

I am lost!! Is there somebody with a good suggestion??????

Problem is identified!
After many hours of testing and comparing with other implementations I have identified the source of the problem. It was caused by the Dutch Language Module!!! A considerable surprise, I must say.
