Any problems with not loading core Mods that will not be used?

I've never been so pressed for space before on a site, but I need to free up as much as possible.

I'd like to leave off some modules from the Core mods, if possible,i.e. forums, headlines, etc.

Anyone know of possible issues or problems...or if it can be done?

No problems here. I believe I have only one core module installed, all others replaced and removed.
