I've got a puzzling situation. Have a brand new site up and running and A couple of users keep having to log in over and over again. It's very fustrating for them cause they will be posting a message and it just seems that their session dissappears.

Anyone else having this problem?

I'm running 2.0.9.2 on this site.

The site url is TriangleBirdClub.org.

Thanks, JDSeymore... I'm going to try that right now.

Hey... that fixed my problem too! I was just strolling by minding my own business and bam!

I was wondering what caused that. Well anywho it doesn't seem to be a problem for me now.

Ironically, I had the www. in the url in mainfile.php, so I took that out, and managed to have a troubled user stay connected for over 30 minutes... Then he gave out on me.. And it's not even sunup yet! What's up with that?

Can't win for loosing...

Re: User's keep having to log back in.

If you are using the default XOOPS session, if a user logs in and is idle for about 20 to 30 minutes the session will timeout by default. As long as the user is active, it should not timeout on them.

You could try a custom session, or an auto logon hack. But if they are active for that time frame and still times out there is another problem.

Now, remember that the auto login does not keep sessions active, it just logs you on automatically.

I tried using both the default, and custom session settings and really didn't see much difference.

But now I've lost my users, so will have to wait and see what happens tomorrow.

What my user was telling me though is that he had to log back in like 10 times in an hour... So we're still trying to pin down the problem.

Make sure you check firewall/spyware software settings.
