yes i have tried to check the version information, but it only appears "Powered by XOOPS_VERSION © 2001-2003 The XOOPS Project".

download ROOT/include/version.php and check the version by open it with an editor( e.g. notepad)

edit: sorry for my mistake its in include folder

thank you so much, now i know my current version is 'xoops_version.php,v 1.14 2003/03/29 19:51:59' - is that means my version is 2.0.3?

i check the last upgarde file that contain the xoops_version.php is v 1.16 (i.e. 2.0.5-to-2.0.6.patch)

so which upgrade file should i start with?

Many thanks from all the guys who give me a hand

After knowing the version of my xoops, I found that my pervious version is so out-of-date, that I am not able to locate a corresponding upgrade version (as I’m still in 2.0.3!).

Can somebody kindly give me suggestions how can I keep my system updated? Is it possible to install an updated version and migrate the database into the new one?

I’ve check the FAQ and it mention about the steps in migrating the database into another server under same version only. Can it also apply in my situation?

actually your XOOPS version is 2.0.5.2 and it is not 2.0.3 , so I think if you just copy all of the files in the new version package(2.0.9.2), and then update the system module from the admin area everything should work fine! However if it didn't work you should upgrade from 2.0.5.2--> 2.0.6-->2.0.7-->2.0.9.2 , but I am 90% sure that the first method works fine, since I havn't tried this myself , I might be wrong.I suggest that before doing anything you should back up both your files and database!

That says 2.0.9.2
version.php says 2.0.9.2
but my home page says: Powered by Xoops2.05¡¡

Is that a normal behavior for Xoops?

Thanks for any input...
