Hello,

perhaps I missed smthg, but I didn't find a list of supported environment for XOOPS. It would be nice to have something like :

------ OS ------ Webserver --- Database ---- PHP --- XOOPS
Windows XP sp1 Apache 2.0 MySQL 2.3 PHP4 2.0.6
...

More specifically, I'd like to know if anyone did try it in corporate environments like :
AIX / SunOS, SunOne or IBM httpserver , Sybase / DB2...

Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards,

Xad

Perhaps was I not clear enough.

The system requirements indicated on the FAQ can be summed up by "use WAMP/LAMP"... and it's not my point as these are often banned from corporate environments.

I was looking for experiences or attempts to run it on usual professional environments, e.g. AIX or MVS / IBM Http server or SunOne / DB2 or Oracle.

Any known example ?

same system requirements as mith posted..

- A web (www) server (Apache, IIS, Roxen, etc)

-

- MySQL Database 3.23.XX or 4.X.XX

Note: one user has reported a problem with MySQL 3.23.49a-MAX. You will likely have difficulties with this version.

Note: if you have a large number of users (several hundred or more),
people have reported problems with PHP 4.1.2 which go away when
upgrading to a later version of PHP.

Note: not yet officially tested with PHP 5, but some users have already
reported problems. You can find more info in the XOOPS forum (use search).

Note: XOOPS works very well with PHP 4.3.4 and mySQL 4.0.15 Standards

is that not clear enough? those are the requirements..

Apache server or IIS, Roxen etc.. or any webserver as such

it must have mysql, it must have php 4 or 5 (but not fully supported with 5 yet)

if it isn't on the list it isn't compatible..

so to answer your question >

I was looking for experiences or attempts to run it on usual professional environments, e.g. AIX or MVS / IBM Http server or SunOne / DB2 or Oracle.

ibm http server, should work as long as it has the above services enabled.. ie php & mysql

oracle and db2 aren't on the list so they aren't supported and are not likely to be for a long while..

xoops is a web software package programmed in php.. so i don't think it would matter what server system you set it up on as long as the server is setup to use php & mysql

Thanks for these precisions.
As long as we're stuck with mySQL (even if it's a fine sgbd), DSI will block it (the usual 'not conform to Group standards' excuse...).
