the problem is, i'm not brought to my login page when i go to my site. i'm brought to the directory instead. my web host told me that the hacker corrupted my index.php or index.html files.

i tried replacing the index.php but nothing happens. should i reinstall XOOPS instead? do i need to uninstall it first or should i just overwrite the files and run install again?

Check your root directory, is there an index.htm or index.html there?

No, that is how sometimes your site gets highjacked, they install an index.html and your servers picks that page first.

How do you usually get to the login page is it in the dropdown menu?

just like in www.xoops.org. i go to my site, and then the login page appears. i don't use any dropdown menus to get there.

Check your database first, backup all database first. Are there any errors that you are getting, blank pages?

So what is the page I am viewing when I go to your site in your profile?

with regard to the database, i have no problem with it. the site is new so, it hasn't been updated yet. there's no problem if i start from scratch.

there are no errors displayed when i go to my page. i see only the directory. i'm expecting to be brought to my login page. :(

Then make sure that your chmod settings are correct for install and run the install script.
