Hi folks,

I hope someone can helop me out. Everytime i edit the theme.html of an exisiting theme and then install to see the changes I see this code at the top of the page.

" lang="en">


Does anyone know how to remove this and why is it that i am getting this?

What exactly is the change you're making in theme.html?

the changes are simple ones like the alt tags and links pointing to my website. also i wanted to change and add some other things to theme.html but i always get this to show up. btw im not uploading this to the server as of yet. im viewing it on my pc. if that is relevant info. thanks.

The reason I asked is that it sounds like you're introducing a syntax error into the HTML when you make the change. Without seeing the actual changed code, I can't be more specific.

i don't understand why this error shows up. i even checked the actual source code but i can't find it there. i notice that when i make simple changes to the theme.html this error will pop-up. i'm modifying a theme by 7dana btw. 7dana-soft.

can you give us a link to that document so that we can view at it?

If you use normal theme without any language hacks this mentioned part is sure from document type description or xml prolog but... everythink is looking in the big bowl of glass ...

Hi,

I have the same problem with mine theme.
just remove from line +/- 3 i think, where it says:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="<{$xoops_langcode}>" lang="<{$xoops_langcode}>">


delet that and try again :)

Thanks for the tip m8! I found out that my editor was the cause of the problem. When I used dreamweaver the problem didn't persist. Thanks for all the replies.
