Downloads per day??

Here's my situation. I have a lot of downloads on my site and I only have so much bandwidth per month. I want to be able to limit the number of downloads a user can have per day in the wf-downloads module. I was wondering if anyone has any idea how to make a hack that can accomplish this. Does anyone else have a need or want something like this?
