Apparently, I have news_.1.1 instead of news_1.2

My XOOPS install was done by way of Fantastico.

Anyway, how do I upgrade the news module? What are the steps involved? Where do I find the module/script?

In the news archive folders that you unzipped on your local computer go into the module root directory, you will see folders such as admin, class, includes and so on. In there is a file called upgrade.txt it will guide you in the upgrade of the news module as well as tell you where and how to run the upgrade script.
