Cannot write to mainfile.php

I have the following problem during installation:

Once I have installed everything according to the instructions and I try to go to "localhost/xoops/" then I get a installscreen. After following the first screens, where I even get green lights meaning that the right files/folders are writable, I got the following error:

"Could not write into mainfile.php. Please check the file permission and try again."

I have write permissions and I'm the Administrator (because it's local). What do I have to do?

Specs:
Windows XP Pro SP2
IIS 6
PHP v5.0.3
MySQL v5.0.2-alpha-nt

make sure the properties of the file:mainfile.php is NOT set to read only. ie right click on the file, select properties and uncheck the box read only.

Stupid question have your set permissions to the actual mainfile to 777???

As I have said, the file is writable, thus it is not set to read-only and the file is on my local pc (Windows) so therefore I cannot set the file permissions to 777.

Maybe you should try Linux LOL i knew bill gate sucked all along LOL sorry
