Hy,

In response of QA Smoketests thread, here are ideas and common answers about our questions...

Quote:

are you just focusing on module development? How about theme?

- there are more useless modules out there than there are bad themes
- there's no reason not to include themes as well. I someone would like...
- mosts projects that fails are unfocused. So I suggest that we concentrate on modules and leave themes for later on or for someone else
- themes and modules sort of run hand and hand iin my mind so realy the impact on themes should be part of the QA

decision ?

Quote:

Is system module in our scope

- I don't find it usefull to go through the current system module parts, as we know they are not up to shape and they will be changed in the future

decision ? NO --->I think everybody is ok wih this !

let's talk about this !

IMO, the QA process should eventually encompass all of XOOPS: core, "core" modules, other modules, themes, language packs, and so on.

But it may be expedient to pick one area, such as modules, or even a single module, to get started. After a complete QA process has been defined for that area, then we can review it, evaluate its effectiveness, and discuss how to expand it to cover more areas.

This is only my opinion. If someone has a better idea, I'm open to suggestions.

I agree with Dave_L

I prefer to choose one single module at first, use it as the guinea pig.

One module to define things would be my choice.

Can we use a dichotomous poll? Just two questions only one or the other is the right answer, see how many people are in the QA team (Dave_L would know that I guess..) Put a poll up and once we get say 70% on either answer, move on??
Just an idea, I am not used to working in an e-team where we can't meet up physically so I thought it might be good to have a clear way to define our decision points.
Of course that may be Dave's job, I am not sure

Perhaps a developer could "volunteer" a module? As far as complete modules go I think SmartFAQ is a good example.

I'd volunteer AMS, but the documentation at the moment.... well it pretty much doesn't exist (which I am wanting to rectify, just lack time).
