Hi,
sorry if im just being dumb. Ive searched everywhere trying to fond out how to edit the front page of a XOOPS site. I understand about putting news etc on front page, but wish to put just some standard text on, like Welcome to the site etc, like the front page of xoops.
Please help

probably the simpliest way to accomplish this is to create a new block (System -> Blocks) and set it to only display on the Top Page.

i have tried that and it doesnt seem to work. i have editied groups so that unregistered users may view it too. It just doesnt show. hmmm

just realised something. on the preference page, there is a default module option for start page. Do i need to edit this in some way. the custom block obviosuly isnt listed there, cos its not a module.

What are the settings for your block? (System -> Blocks : Edit on your custom block)

Hi, if you set module for start page to none and set your custom block(s) to show on the top page this should work, ensure you group permissions set aswell or some users may not see it. Also make sure the block settings are correct, if its just plain text you have put in it set it to auto format if its HTML code make sure its set to html.

Well,
i couldnt figure it out, so i chnged the theme back to the default theme, and it works fine, but if change back to my other theme, it doesnt work.

Any more suggestions on that?

the custom theme probably does not properly support center blocks, what is the theme?

art its called. available in the module library

that theme only displays blocks set into two positions:

Left
Center-Left

If you place your block into the Center-Left position it will display
(1) 2 »
