Hi there. I have video file that i would like to insert in my XOOPS so users would be able to click on a link a play a file directly on the website.

my video file are in different quality size (128, 256, cable)

Is it possible to do so? is there a module that can do that easily?

i find mediashow and it is not what i really looking for.

I want the user to click on a link and then he can watch the movie in window media player per example.

Have you tried just linking directly into the file:

hi Coopersita,

but i would like to play the file in my website without redirect the user to window media player directly. Can i integrate window media player in my page so it is gonna open inside the website ? if yes how to do so?

I recommend you checkout the debaser module by frankblack

From the project description:

This is a media player for multimedia files. Files can be uploaded, retrieved and played within XOOPS using different kind of media players (at the moment: windows media player audio/video, flash player audio/normal, real player audio/video, quicktime).

There is also a block for playing radio streams.

OK, i install debaser and upload the files succefully.

but when it launch the file via window media player per example, it's always a black screen withtout no images or video, but i can see that the movie is runing when i look at the bottom bar of the player.

If i launch the file directly with window media player, it worls perfectly, but when i launch it via my XOOPS website by clicking the link, it is a black screen.

Can somebody tell me what is the problem?

since this application is still in beta form, I'd recommend asking the developer directly. Either by submitting a support request, or asking a question in the debaser project forums.
