Hello,

I am making this site for a friend and I wanted to go CSS/tableless. It looks fine to me but I talked to her on the phone and she said some of the modules looked weird, like they scrolled off the page. Could you guys check it out and let me know what you see?

The site is Memories on Fifth

Looks fine to me in IE 6 and firefox. What browser is she using? Keep in mind that anything pre IE 6 is really broken for CSS (IE6 is bad enough as it is).

I don't know what browser or resolution she is on, and she's not tech-savvy enough to find it to tell me. I checked in FireFox and IE6 at 1400x1050.

You gotta hate that...

Keep in mind that unless she is using Windows XP (assuming she is using Windows given here tech background) it is more than likely she'll be using IE 5 which was included as standard with Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows ME and Windows 2000.

Another way around would be to have a look at your webserver log files, as they might be loggin browser type, or you could also install something like PHP-Stats which would track OS, browser and screen resolution stats for you.

Has any of you guys thought of reducing the browser window size?

I can only observe the problem at less than 800px, and only with the Contact Module.

The way around this would be to not display any blocks with the Contact module (Sys Admin -> Blocks). This will work fine, because after contact form submission the user is taken back to index page.

Hope this helps....

You could also try cloning and modifying the default template set. I ran into very similar problems with the 2cnt (2 column no tables) theme I made a while back.

The templates are just XHTML snippits of code with smarty varibles mixed in. It's really simple (but time consuming) to rewrite the template set to match your theme.

Good luck.

This has got to be one of the most frustrating things I have ever encountered. I was just trying to make a simple site that was semi-liquid. I went to her store today and tested it out and this happens on almost every screen. I even tried converting it back to a table site instead of "tableless" and still i have the same problems at 800x600.
