I want to use XOOPS to create multi-language sites. Is there a module for content translation? If yes, would it get in the way of upgrading in newer versions?

no [I think], but is easy to create a hack like this, using the google service and the iframe hack....

Mikhail,

When you refer to Google service you mean automatic translation?

This is not what I meant. I want to have the option to post an article in multiple languages using just one form or using a tool that will identify the posting in one language and allow me to translate in another (like the xaraya translation module but for content instead of interface).

Is there such a thing?

maybe this:

Project: XOOPS Multilanguages

This is a *heavily* hacked version of XOOPS 2.0.6 carefully crafted to support the easy (but hard-working) creation of XOOPS sites in several languages. It's an exercise in useful hacking and not a substitute for true multilanguage features that we hope to include in future versions of Xoops.
