I tried doing this on my own but it did not block the IP number I entered.
There is a troll in our midst. It has a fixed IP number.
So I went to admin>preferences>general settings.
I entered the IP # in the to be banned text box like this:
aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd

I banned this IP # early morning and this troll is still posting.

What did I miss?

Thanks.

Re: How to set IP banning in general settings

you should put it like this, as an example.

127.0.0.1|127.0.0.2|127.0.0.3|182.123.415.1

and not "aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd". change aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd with the ip you want to ban.

LOL
Thanks for the reply.
I actually did put in numbers and not the letters used as an example. hee hee

At first I tried 127.0.0.1|65.64.8.8 , then I tried just 65.64.8.8. Neither way works. Is there something else I need to do?
Do I need the local host IP number in there for any reason?

Thanks again.
