I've just installed XOOPS 2.0.9 Beta to give the PHP 5 support a test. When I go to the admin menu, then to modules, only the System Admin module is present. Is this normal for 2.0.9? Do I have to get the other core modules separately?

Thanks.

As you can read in the release news, this package does not contain any other modules, as it's meant to test the PHP5 compatibility and the needed changes haven't been propagated throughout the core modules yet. So yes, this is fully intentional.

Re:XOOPS 2.0.9 Beta question

Only the System Module is included in 2.0.9 beta because of the (attempted) PHP 5 support, which is not in the modules normally distributed with the core.

Most modules should still work, but there may be some incompatibilities with modules and PHP 5 (but not with modules and XOOPS 2.0.9 beta, mind you)

Ah ha. I should have taken the time to read the release notes.

I'll install some of the standard modules and test the php 5 compatibility. I'll try out the features in the Admin module too and report anything I find.

Thanks for responding.

Just as an added note, I installed NewBB 2.0 RC3 and it installed and is working well so far. Farther than I've gotten with XOOPS & PHP 5 to date. Nice work.
