MyLinks does not link directly to a website.
It actually links to visit.php which appears to pull the correct URL from the db.

This current structure makes is impossible to create reciprocal links with sites that use a automated reciprocal link checking algorithm.

Search Engines that use variations of the PageRank algorithm see these links as meaningless and they pass no PageRank.

If XOOPS wants to be a real player, it will have to keep up with search engine trends. Linking Strategies play a critical role in the success of a site.

Many of those strategies are not possible with the current setup of mylinks.
