I am currently trying to port bytemonsoon into xoops. I have pretty much no idea how to make a module and would very much like if someone could tell me the basics of how to make a module for xoops, what files need to be included or possibly point me to some step by step documentation on how I should go about doing this. Any help with this project would be much appreciated. If I could get a beta version I would like to set it up as a project on dev forge. I think this would be a huge addition to the XOOPS community. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

XOOPS File Structure

Modules Kickstart Guide

Get a good module to look at, so you can see how things work there. I started out with News, mainly because of the many comments in xoops_version.php. For code structure, other modules may be a tad better - perhaps SmartFAQ 1.02 (yes, sorry, shameless plug)

You don't have to wait until you have running code to add your project to dev.xoops.org - just a good idea and the desire to work on it towards a final module.
dev.xoops.org IS a development community - not a repository for half or fully finished modules - so come on over
