Thats a connection problem to your database, check your db is running and that the db details held in the mainfile.php are correct.

in INSTALL at the end I get to check database settings and I get this error:

Could not connect to the database server.

Please check the database server and its configuration.

Hope you still have a good backup file. Upgrading from 2.0.6 to 2.0.7 only needs overwriting the files and UPDATing the system module if there are changes to the template files. That is all and the instruction is pretty clear.

It seems that you have gone through the install process again which are not required.

If you had to re-install, make sure you have the correct db name and password, as Tom has already pointed out.

BTW, remove your install directory once you are done. You are asking for hacking to your site by leaving it there.

As pointed it out already - make sure you have the correct db settings.
Nobody can help you further on that regard. If you forgot, check with your host.

it seems you definitely did something wrong.. did you make a backup 1st? if so you need to retrieve the file mainfile.php from your backup..

i downloaded your mainfile.php file, something which i shouldn't have been able to do either so remember to set permissions correctly after you have set up again..

but you might aswell copy all of the 2.0.7.3 files over again as your mainfile.php is empty.. so you will need to manually edit all the info back into it..

at the current time the contents of your mainfile.php are:

This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.<br/><br/>If you are the administrator of this site, please visit the <a href="http://wiki.xoops.org/wakka.php?wakka=TroubleshootingBlankPage">Xoops Troubleshooting Page</a> for assistance.<br/><br/>Error [Xoops]: Unable to connect to database in file C:\sh-www\brightonized.net\bh\html\class\database\databasefactory.php line 34<br>

so you need to restore the correct contents of that file..

in future when upgrading, follow the instructions as going thru the install process again is not necessary.. and the install folder shouldn't have even been on your server for you to be able to go thu it again..
