I installed XOOPS 2.0.7.3 and then uploaded some modules, including wfsections, to the xoops/modules directory. When I go to Admin/Modules, the modules are not showing up to be installed. Has something changed in 2.0.7.3 regarding this procedure? What did I not do? I'm stuck.

Thanks.

Do you get any error messages about module files not being found?

No. Nothing at all.

I would just make sure that you have at least read access to the files, and execute permissions on the directories. Also, I'm not sure if you have multiple copies of XOOPS on your website, but check to make sure that you have placed the modules in the correct folder.

Permissions seem to be fine. The modules are in the right directory. I checked that first. Just to be double-sure, though, I changed the name of the "contact" module, which I haven't installed yet and which is in the same directory as the others which are not showing up, to "contact-new", and, when I refreshed the admin/modules page, it disappeared! Seems to me it should still have shown up in the uninstalled modules section, but it didn't.

This sounds like a bug to me, but what do I know? I do know, though, that I have a lot of work to do, and I am stuck and stumped. Do the developers monitor this board?

May be a permissions problem after all, although I don't know how they would have become messed up. I'll report back when I know.

Looks like a bad install. Starting over. Sigh...
