There are a few questions I would like to get answered:

1. Suppose I want to build a website based on XOOPS for a company that doesn't do any online business - it is a small company that owns a few laundries and stuff like that. Can I use XOOPS for it? Is it still free?

2. Suppose I want to build a website based on XOOPS for an online company, IE a company that gets profit by doing internet sales. Can I use XOOPS for it? Is it still free?

3. Can the above-mentioned questions be answered regarding XOOPS themes too?

From my understanding, you can use XOOPS in essentially any way you please. My only suggestion about module and themes is read the license accompanying them.

One addition to 3.: one very important thing with themes is that the images may be copyrighted. We fully support the creator's right to enforce the copyright protection (like Draven's comments on a brazilian site that stole his theme (it hasn't been publicly released) and used his images, we definately disapprove of that), although we also support people who make their themes public and put the images under an agreeable license (like the Creative Commons license, for example!)
