Please read before using any hacks from this forum !!

Please feel free to share your hacks with the rest of the XOOPS community. Please be advised that if you use these hacks that it could break forward comapatibility with future XOOPS versions. We only recommend using hacks from this forum if your an experienced PHP/XOOPS hacker.

Please give a good explination of the hack so that everyone can understand what the hack is for/about.

Thanks,
XOOPS Team

Great reminder Boobtoob.

BTW, having rolled out lots of sw - for those that make $ off of their sites I'd HIGHLY recommend keeping a very documented set of modifications and added modules.

I document main reasons for change, as well as what i expect to be implications on code by module, etc.

very good point. Good documentation can save hours of digging through code trying to remmember what exactly you did and also greatly improves the chances you will be able to implement your hack in a future release.

Even 5 years on - it's still good advice.

Yeah great advice, I don't often make many changes, but I still document them to be on the safe side.

Anyway David, so that not to confuse members, can boobtoobs status be changed to just 'friend of xoops', I know he left support a fair while ago, and has now converted to joomla (which is a very nice site by the way).

Cheers.

Yep, very good advise. Although, I had to hack up bf2online.com to get it to do what I needed to, I made sure to note which files were heavily modified so that if future changes to those files were made by the devs I could make the upgrade and still keep my site in full working order.

CBB (this forum module) is generally better than NewBB (the old forum software), but I miss the 'report' button that could be used use to alert moderators about spam or offensive posts.

-- Edit --

In fact, I really don't give a #OOPS# anymore. Spam away.
