How to not show the PRIVATE Forums to all Visitors ?

How can i make the whole Locked Forums not visible to users, that have no rights to look at it. I mean, even the visibility of those Forums should be possible to avoid...

It works fine on other boards, all other boards, but not in NEWBB !!!

I can´t hide the Categorys, where for example the PRIVATE Forums are in. So is this really not possible ?

i believe this issue will be fixed in newbb2

have you tried checking NewBB Pro to see if it fixes this error? dunno, just a guess

newbb is fairly basic though, work is being done in several areas to bring other forums to xoops, as well as upgrading newbb, not to mention the forums that have already been ported by bbpixel.com

Hi,

I've made this kind of thing with a modified version of newbb where private forums are completly privates. My module is named newbbex

Because the new version of newbb will do exactly the same
I have talked to Preadthor and he's team, they have accepted to add all my "goodies".

i'm unable to view your site, due to my work's web proxy (lol, good job, your site is well known enough to be classified as worth blocking ) (free downloads was the reason, lol)


btw, ya still oughta submit your module, because newbb2 is in no state for release, and i think predator has been fairly busy in 'real life', so it might be awhile before newbb2 final sees the light of day

this would be a good interim solution for other users as well

Is the same Hack available for ForumEx ? I like this forum and it fits well with my site , www.urbanskaters.co.uk and don't want to change it for another just yet, as i've already lost the posts from my previous IPBoard, which btw isn't all that.

DUH!! Sorry , just realised this topic is about ForumEx as well. The private forums still show when i login as a user who doesn't have access to that forum. Does that make sense?
