I transfered my site from my home Linux box to the host. The only problem that I am having at this point is activation.

I have set via 'user info settings' to admin activation. Checking directly with the database confirms this: xoops2_config --> conf_name --> activation_type = admin.

However, when a user registers, they are sent the 'user activate email' which does work. Going back into user info settings shows that the drop down is reset to user activate. No matter how many times I try to reset this, it does not change.

I am using the IPB module. Using usercp system of XOOPS = no. Using registration system of XOOPS = yes. This worked ok on my test box.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

xoops 2.07
apache - 2 different servers: (xoops)1.3.6, (mysql)2.0.46
mysql 4.0.15
php 4.3.2

Go to bbpixel.com and scroll way down on the page. Please excuse me if I misinterpreted your question.

Having just checked it out myself, I see that there is an updated IPB module. I doubt that this has anything to do with my problem, but I'll see what happens with the update.

Doesn't anybody care to take a stab at this? I reinstalled XOOPS and ipb and still have the same problem.

I did not think to check at bbpixel, but I'll do that now. In the mean time I would appreciate some advice on this.

Thanks to all.

I just tried something that seems to work so far.
1. Deactivate the IPB module.
2. Go into the system admin --> preferences --> users info settings, and reset to admin activation.
3. Do a test to make sure it works correctly. Mine did.
4. Reactivate the IPB module.
5. Test. Again mine worked this time. I've only done 1 test though.

Post it here if it works for you.
BTW, I will set IPB for Using userCP of xoops=no, and using registration of xoops=yes. We'll see if admin activation still works afterward.

Good luck.

Whoops! Forgot to mention 1 step. After reactivating the IPB module, update the sys admin module.
