Unable to uninstall module

Hey everyone.

First off, I downloaded the mod_stats module off of the source-forge stat to try and run it on my 2.0.7 setup. It installed fine, but when I go to uninstall it, it goes to a blank page. I believe it's because the module has no name... such as, if you notice, if you put the mouse over another module, it'll give you a directory (news, mydownloads, newbb) where as this one only gives you nothing. I've disabled it fine, but it's getting annoying in my module area.

Thanks in advance,

-Zak Sawyer

Can you turn on php debug in system admin -> preferences -> general settings and try uninstall it again and report error messages here?

I get a blank page.

http://www.---.com/modules/system/admin.php?fct=modulesadmin&op=uninstall&module=

http://www.---.com/modules/system/admin.php?fct=modulesadmin&op=uninstall&module=xoopsheadlines

See the difference between the two links though? That's all I can really provide since the PHP debug brings up nothin'.

Re: Unable to uninstall module

try manually going to
http://www.---.com/modules/system/admin.php?fct=modulesadmin&op=uninstall&module=dirname

where "dirname" of course responds to the directory name of the misbehaving module.

Re: Unable to uninstall module

Hmmm... bad module...

An alternative approach would be to go through each and every table related to the module and remove the entries for this module... but since there are quite some tables (tables for modules, blocks, templates, group permissions, several relational tables etc.) this is not something I would recommend to a new user.

I'm not sure how to help you. I guess that by removing the module's entry in the prefix_modules table and deleting the modules/modulename directory, you would at least get rid of the module from the modules installations page, but this is a bastard solution, which will leave obsolete information in the database.
