Module not showing in admin section

Ive just installed a module in ../modules/and its not showing in the uninstalled modules in admin. Not even 'module not found' message... nothing.

Its a good module, ive used before on another site. I checked xoops_version.php and it all looks fine. Whats the probem please??

So, I bypassed admin! Just substituted another install URL for the module name that was missing. It installed perfectly. So It was a good module, but why did it not show in the admin

Did you notice that your post is quite vague?

I mean you don´t even name the module. Sometimes you need to supply more facts to get peoples interest. For example someone remembering by the name 'ah that module gave me a headache too'

That's happening for me also.. I'm trying to install the donation module (paypal donations)
I've seen it with a couple other modules as well.. didn't write down which ones.

Got it... when I uploaded the tar and uncompressed it, the files inside had very restrictive permissions. Only owner could Read the files. I chmodded the whole donation dir to 755 and it sees it now.
Of course now when I hit test I get the error from the other thread..
