news 1.2 : Error while Uploading the file

i have problem with upload at news 1.2 module and get this error: " Error while Uploading the file "
help me plz.
is this related to permissions?
the pyblic_html/upload folder is 777

Well, I can only say I posted a news (as admin) and it worked for me. The pic was uploaded.

In the admin section of XOOPS -> news -> Preferences there's the following option:

Authorized groups to upload

Select the groups who can upload to the server

(I have it set to approvers only) maybe yours is disabled there?

Otherwise it's working fine for me, no trouble at my end ;).

i know that and i set it at approve only too
r u upgrade ur news1.1 and havent this problem?

(I'm not english and I'm having trouble to read postings where people use shortcuts such as 'u' or 'r' or 'ur', etc. Usually I ignore such postings .)

I'm not really sure what you mean, but my news module is a complete new install. For some weird reason I couldn't update it and had trouble. Since my site wasn't online then and the module was nearly empty anyway, I decided to do a fresh install.

I'm sorry I can't help you more than this.

Hi,

What kind of file are you trying to upload ?
Can you upload pictures with the Image Manager ?

when i want upload .jpg to a story get this error: "error while attaching file to the story".

with phpmyadmin or something like this, could you verify hat the following sql table exists please ?

Hi,

Ok, create it and name it with the same prefix as the other tables, for example xoops_stories_files
it should solve the problem. You can find its definition in the xoops/moudules/news/sql/mysql.sql file
