I was just wondering the same thing myself tonight. I did a backup, twice not sure if I did it right. When I did back my system up, I ended up with (filelist.Rv5ZDm ) on my Cpanel, is this correct?

1) no XOOPS does not have a function built in to do that

2) how about using the search function?

3)http://wiki.xoops.org/wakka.php?wakka=AboutXoopsMySQLBackups

4) as a module: Xoops Backup 2.20

5) remember to backup your files when you add or remove something there (themes/modules/...)

Can´t say anything about cpanel due to no experience with that.

ali44: can´t find your other 3 unanswered questions. Usually most questions are replied upon in this community as you can see when just browsing the forums. Questions tend to be ignored when there are very little details be given from time to time.

Patience ! Sometimes the people who might answer your question live in a different time zone and are asleep

You can backup the XOOPS database with either:

1. The backup module. Just install it, and set up the backup block to appear somewhere on your site (configure the block to be accessible only by webmasters). This gives you a handy link you can just click on to download the database when you visit your site.

2. myPHPadmin. You can install this as a XOOPS module, or quite often it is provided by your ISP. I don't use this much, but I think to backup the database goes like this:

* Open myPHPadmin and select the name of the database you want to backup in the left column up the top.
* Click on the 'export' tab in the main window
* I *think* you select 'data and structure' option - better check that this is correct
* Select the 'drop table' option
* Select the format you want to download the database in
* Go !!

Backup module is easier Good luck.
