Hi,

I am using a dot.tk domain redirection method to get short url for my site. Surprisingly i am facing a weired problem.

When i am using the dot.tk domain the homepage comes perfectly on loging it shows that login is successfull. but then instead of showing the registered users page it again comesback to the home page allowing me to login.
I could not figure it out why this happening.

On the otherhand if i am logging into the application from the normal url... its doing it perfectly.

Any idea why its behaving in this manner...

Note: dot.tk redirection uses frames. so the page is loaded in inline frame.

That is because the system checks where the visitor is logging in from, and if this doesn't corespond with the XOOPS_URL in your mainfile.php, then you're not logged in to that website. If you don't mind the URL, then change the redirect to a real redirect, and have all traffic forwarded to the real URL, so don't hide that.

do you mean that i should change the real redirecthttp://<name>.<hosting>.com/<folder>/html tohttp://<name>.tk url ..??? in the mainfile

could you give me an example to have more clearity.

what i want is when user visits my sitehttp://<name>.tk he should be able to login.

the way XOOPS works is that the URL wher ethe site actually is, is the one that should be used, as well as set in the mainfile.php.

So, if your site is situated somewhere else the yourdomain.tk, then that is what should be used to enter the site.

In simple words you mean to say i cannot use any redirecting urls.

I dont understand how it matter to xoops. since i am being redirected using a frame. What happens is when i call www.foo.tk foo.tk loads a page having frame which contians the data coming form my XOOPS index page in this way my url in address bar remains same but the pages in the frames work perfectly..

Can anyone tell me any hack arround it so that i can have XOOPS running fine in the given condition .

I had the problem with XOOPS 1.3.8 but after I updated to 2.0.6 All users login fine - Just remember to have cookies to"accept" - you can see what I wrote to my users here

Thx ossi, that faq setting worked perfectly....
I hope there could be some easy way.. otherwise all the visitors have to go through that process....

can we have some hack arround it ????

I will let you know if I can figure it out - I am currently trying to make a hack for it.
