Any timeline for when php 5 will supported? Not a PHP 5 only version, but at least support it. I run PHP 5 now and I'd love to be using XOOPS, but I can't until it works.

We're working on PHP5 support, at least to make XOOPS work. But if this is for version 2.2 or later, I don't know. Not many hosts run PHP5 yet tho, and since it's 'just' and RC release at the moment, it will take a while before many of the hosts do.

If you could help us with testing and giving us some of the required changes, that would be great

We are currently discussing PHP5 and XOOPS.

The problem is backwards compatibility, but I think that we have a consensus not to push PHP5 forward and drop the XOOPS users on the floor, who are not hosted with a good host, which is fast to install PHP5.

I read that post, it just wasn't too clear. :)

I'd be happy to help out and test PHP5 and XOOPS. When I transitioned to PHP 5 on my dev server, all of my sites made the transfer just fine. Based on the errors I've seen after installing XOOPS on my server (PHP 5 rc1), it seems to mostly be type-casting issues. I just found out about XOOPS last week, so it would take me a bit to get up to speed, but I'll take a read through the Dev Info on the site, see if there is any way I can help out, if you need it or want it. :)
