I want to build a theme that uses a specific template instead of the default template.

For Example, theme1 uses the default template that is set on preferences, but theme2 uses a specific template.

Is that possible???? i'm using the version 2.0.5.

P.S - Sorry my english, but i'm portuguese.

Yes, it should be possible.

I have not tried it, but placing templates with the same name as the templates they replace in the theme folder and enabling the "update module templates from themes/yourtheme folder" setting in preferences -> general settings should do the trick.

I have not really worked with this, so try it out and report your findings here

your solution doesn't work fine. when you choose the theme with the template folder inside it the theme works well, but when you select another theme again it doesn't work fine. I think that XOOPS does no load the default template folder again.

hey locomotion,

i think the key is to focus on style sheet and theme.html

also, i always clone a set of templates related to specific themes, however if you offer your visitors a choice of themes this will not work well - i think.

Go to your modified template in the template admin and download a tar.gz of it and then include it with your theme distribution, instructing users that they may wish to add the template files through template admin.

hey locomotion,

hope this does not confuse issue, but visit this site:

http://www.csszengarden.com/?cssfile=/078/078.css&page=3

this is a working example of the same html and a variety of style sheets.

i need to put templates in the sytem using template admin ???
If yes there is a problem. i don't want that the template to be used by all themes, only for one specific theme.

i've done that, but that don't solve my problem because doing that all themes are going to user the same template and i don't want that. i want that only a specific theme use a specific theme.
For example:
theme cubo will use the templates cubo
theme default will use template default
theme x2t will use template default
theme phpkaox will use template default

hey locomotion,

i am not so sure that this is not a css (theme) issue. the templates affect modules and blocks only, how your content is presented.
