I am attempting to create a custom block to display a banner with out modifing the theme.html

I have currently
------------------------------------------------

block type: side block - right
content type: html

content:
<p valign="middle" align="center"><{$xoops_banner}></p>
---------------------------------------------------

I have tried every combination of content type, etc.


Any help would be appreciated.

save the block as phpscript
